Bitter and Sweet !

I still remember the day . . . .it was 1969 February.(the exact date is not important). We were called to the small lawn opposite the Principal's residence. Bro. Julian (my father always called him Juliet: Y? I don't have the foggiest idea) and Mr Sawhney, our first maths teacher was also present. We felt pretty awkward in our simple civvies. There was a simple motivational talk (mind u not a speech) as we were only 16 of us, we being the second batch of the school and he knew each one of us by name (and fame?). After that we had samosas and some aerated drink.[High Tea, some] Then we had a talk with our teachers and we departed for home on our cycles. That was it ! (By the way the tea party was paid for by the school.) Things have changed by the tons these days. Like in St. Gabriel's Academy, Roorkee, the outgoing class XII students came riding to school in a tractor trolley to the loud accompaniment of the dhol. Quite some entry. The rest of them came whizzing in their Dads' cars and 'ate circles of the field' !
But here at DPS, the first batch of Senior Secondary was a sober lot. They felt more lost than anyone else. They arrived in as a silent way as possible dressed in the latest style of dress, some dressed as if for a formal dinner. Poor kids, they couldn't make out what to wear and what not to. All the same they in their best ! That was something. The stage, the fountain flowing 'like a hundred spouts' in shades of blue, green, red and purple. It was like a setting for a bollywood party. The unique part of the farewell was that the teachers too took an active participation in the function. The kids were wonderful. The hosts, class XI, were at their best and the whole party was very aptly arranged. The school arranged for the dinner which was sumptuous, relishing and filling. The kids were at their best. There were the usual songs rendered both by the teachers as well as the students. The seniors were invited to voice their thoughts and so did the hosts, the students of class XI. The usual special awards were given out to the seniors. However, the compares were lacking in the finer points of decency and etiquettes, which stood out like a sore thumb throughout the program. Anyway, on the whole a memorable evening it was for all those present to cherish and relish.
For the senior secondary students, below a quote a  from a Native American prayer which very aptly express my prayers for you all:
Friend do it this way-- that is
whatever you do in life
do the very best you can
with both your heart & mind
And if you do it that way
the Power of the Universe
will come to your assistance
if your heart and mind are in Unity

With this prayer or advice, however you may want to take it, I think it is time for me to bid good bye till next time. However, before I end this thumping on the keyboard, have a look at the doodle which I coaught on camera. The situation is most clear. The contributor's name shall be disclosed in my next blog. Pip pip cheerio, till next time. . . .

P.S.
Music is the way to the heart and for some it is a way of life. This can be also expressed through symbols which have been done very artistically. By the way, SAVE PAPER ! SO DO IT ON THE QUESTION PAPER ! ! !
