The NDA Story - Right from the horse's (cadet's) mouth ! - The Sequel

Like in the movies business, there was a time when Part-II or a sequel was a must. So is this. Continuing the journey of  Dhruv's experience:

Services Selection Board

The candidates who are screened are again divided into 4- 5 groups and are shifted to new barracks and rest of the candidates who are screened out are taken back to the railway station after they are provided with lunch. The screened-in candidates are called for documentation in the evening and are told about the tests which will be conducted in the next three days. They are given a PIQ (Personal Information Questionnaire) in which candidates are required to fill the information about their parents, schooling, hobbies etc.The tests conducted in the next three days are: (1) Psychological Tests (2) Interview (3) GTO-1 (4) GTO-2.

On the second day the candidates who are screened in are instructed to reach the testing hall at 6.30 am after breakfast in the mess.So in the morning all the candidates reach the testing hall to give the psychological test. The psychologist is the person who judges your personality by just reading your PIQ sheet. The psychologist is a person who can throw you out of the competition or fight for you to keep you in the competition by reading the matter written in the psychology test and not even looking at you even once. The psychology test includes: (1) TAT (Thematic Appreciation Test) (2) SRT (Situation Reaction Test) (3) WAT (Word Assessment Test) (4) SDT (Self Description Test).

The SSB TEST HALL
given a booklet with blank pages to write the solutions to the tests
going to take place. The very first test is TAT. In this, twelve photographs are flashed on the screen in the order: The first photo is flashed for 30 seconds; and the candidates are given exactly 5 minutes to write a story. The story should give what led to the situation based on your observation of the flashed-photograph. As soon as the five minutes end, the next photo is flashed on the screen for 30 seconds and the same process is continued till the 12th photograph. Here the trick. The 12th photograph is a blank The candidates can write anything as per their own perceptions, observations, etc. Following this, starts the SRT. In this, the candidates are given a question/answer booklet in which are given 60 situations. Time alloted for the situations is 30 minutes. i.e. 30 seconds for each situation. The candidates are advised to write the first thing that comes to their mind for each situation. After the 30 minutes, the candidates are asked to submit their question/answer booklets to the instructor.

Aspirants At the Test Hall
After this test is over, the candidates are again briefed about the next test called the WAT. In this test 60 words are flashed onto the screen one after the other. Each word is flashed for 15 seconds and the then the next and the next and so on. In the 15 seconds the candidate has to write a sentence using the word flashed on the screen.Candidates are advised to write the first sentence that comes to their mind after looking at the word.
I think this would be just enough to read for today or we' really drag things too much.
